Are there Overwater Bungalows in French Polynesia’s Austral Islands?
The Austral Islands in French Polynesia is an archipelago made up of seven islands, five of which are inhabited. The five inhabited islands are Rūrutu (Rurutu), Ra’ivāvae (Raivavae), Tupua’i (or Tubuai), Rimatara, and Rapa (Rapa Iti, not to be confused with Easter Island, which is Rapa Nui). Îles Maria and Marotiri are the two uninhabited islands.
There are currently no overwater bungalows anywhere in the Austral Islands. Head to nearby Bora Bora or Moorea to find overwater bungalows.
