If you’re looking for overwater bungalows in the Caribbean, look no further! This comprehensive list is chock full of closer-to-home-than-Tahiti overwater bungalows for your traveling pleasure.
How do Caribbean Overwater Bungalows Differ?
Beyond being closer to home for US residents than Tahiti, Caribbean overwater bungalows are stylistically different. You’ll notice an absence of the thatch-roof Tahitian style in favor of a more sleek, modern aesthetic. Typically you’ll find private decks with direct water access in the Caribbean, but see-through windows in the floor can be hit or miss.
Sandals is the big brand when it comes to Caribbean overwater offerings, unlike Tahiti and the Maldives where you’ll find a host of high-end brands like Ritz Carlton and The Four Seasons. Some of the Caribbean offerings are all-inclusive, with full 24-hour butler service, while others are more a la carte.
The Bahamas
While the Bahamas aren’t technically part of the Caribbean, they’re often lumped in with the region, which is why I’m including it here.
