Located in the Islands of Tahiti in French Polynesia, Mo’orea is home to several overwater bungalows in the quintessential setting that everyone dreams of when they think of overwater bungalows. Here’s everything you need to know about Moorea overwater bungalows.
To get to Moorea, you’ll first fly to Tahiti Island and then catch an interisland flight or ferry to Moorea. It’s important to note that flights and ferries to Moorea typically cease daily operations around 5 pm. What this means for your planning is that you’ll typically need to spend a night in Papeete and then head to Moorea the following day.

Located between Cook’s Bay and Opunohy Bay, Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort features panoramic mountain and lagoon views. Swim or snorkel in the lagoon directly from one of the resort’s 54 overwater bungalows and see fish, stingrays, and blacktip reef sharks. If you need a change of scenery, head to the resort’s lagoon-style pool or its small beach. There’s also a spa, tennis, and fitness center, so you’ll lack things to do at the resort. However, just a 15-minute drive away you can explore all the activities that the island has to offer.
Despite being an older resort, the rooms are spacious and have glass floor panels, king beds, and free WiFi. Parts of the property are undergoing renovations, which is wonderful to see, but may impact your vacation so be sure to check with the resort before booking.
Enjoy a romantic evening at Moorea’s only overwater restaurant, Toatea Bar & Creperie, or book a fine dining experience with live entertainment, available on select nights. You’ll find more authentic food outside the resort, but if you’re looking for easy, you’ll find quality food and good service at the resort’s restaurants.
