Located on a heart-shaped boardwalk and a private island just off the coast of the main resort, the overwater bungalows at Sandals Royal Caribbean emphasize romance and privacy. Like all Sandals Resorts, Royal Caribbean is all-inclusive and adult-only.
The 17 overwater bungalows (five with infinity pools) are just a short water taxi ride to the main resort and your butler can arrange this 24/7 service if you’d like to partake in the resort’s myriad restaurants or spa and pool. But why would you when each villa features a rainfall shower, a two-person soaking tub, a tranquility soaking tub, an outdoor shower, floor-to-ceiling windows, a swinging day bed, a glass window in the floor, and an overwater hammock for two?
Located right in Montego Bay, Sandals Royal Caribbean is more convenient to the airport than Sandals South Coast, but means it can be noisier as you can see and hear planes.
While Sandals South Coast is further from the airport than Royal Caribbean (90 minutes instead of five-minutes), it boasts a more peaceful atmosphere and a huge stretch of beach.
Your all-inclusive, adults-only overwater bungalow comes with 24-hour butler service and each of the 12 overwater bungalows shares a boardwalk with the overwater wedding chapel (making it the most romantic of the Jamaica overwater bungalows) and Latitudes, an overwater bar.
The innovative luxury overwater bungalows feature an overwater hammock for two, a rainfall shower, a two-person soaking tub, floor-to-ceiling windows, a swinging day bed, and the requisite glass window in the floor. If you do venture out of your bungalow, the resort features three beachfront pools, nine restaurants, and seven bars.
Opened in 2024, Princess Senses the Mangrove is the newest of the Jamacia overwater bungalows. Located on the shores of Green Island, this five-star resort is home to 14 overwater bungalows. Each overwater villa will has a partial glass floor, a private infinity pool, and a terrace over the water.
The resort boasts multiple swimming pools and an aquatic park, a fully equipped fitness center, a spa, and a nightclub. Resort guests have access to the nearby Princess Grand Jamaica, with 14 restaurants and 15 bars.
Overwater bungalows boast an array of innovative features that set them apart from other luxury accommodations. Bungalows typically feature a private infinity pool, perfect for lounging and taking in the breathtaking views of the ocean. The glass floor panels in bungalows offer a unique glimpse into the underwater world, while the private decks and staircases provide direct access to the ocean. Often overwater bungalows feature spa-style bathrooms, complete with outdoor showers and tranquility soaking tubs, perfect for relaxing and rejuvenating. These thoughtful touches ensure that your stay is as comfortable and memorable as possible, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the beauty and tranquility of your surroundings.
One of the most striking features of overwater bungalows is the glass floor panel, which offers a mesmerizing view of the ocean below. Made from high-quality glass, these panels provide a unique glimpse into the underwater world, allowing guests to observe marine life and coral reefs up close. Whether you’re relaxing in your bungalow or enjoying a romantic dinner, the glass floor panel is sure to leave you in awe. It’s like having your own private aquarium, where you can watch the vibrant marine life swim by without ever leaving the comfort of your luxurious retreat.
Overwater bungalows often feature a private deck and staircase, providing direct access to the ocean. Perfect for snorkeling, swimming, or simply enjoying the sun and sea, these private decks offer the ultimate in relaxation and convenience. With comfortable seating areas and stunning ocean views, our private decks are the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the beauty of the Caribbean. Imagine starting your day with a refreshing dip in the ocean, or ending it with a glass of wine as you watch the sunset from your private deck.
