The Austral Islands in French Polynesia is an archipelago made up of seven islands, five of which are inhabited. The five inhabited islands are Rūrutu (Rurutu), Ra’ivāvae (Raivavae), Tupua’i (or Tubuai), Rimatara, and Rapa (Rapa Iti, not to be confused with Easter Island, which is Rapa Nui).
